The relationship between Jesus and Peter is one of the deepest and most meaningful in the New Testament. Originally a fisherman named Simon, Peter was chosen by Jesus to become one of His closest disciples and a leader among the apostles.<\/p>\n
Peter stood out for his sincerity, faith, and at times, impulsiveness. He walked with Jesus, listened to His teachings, witnessed miracles, and was transformed by Christ\u2019s love.<\/p>\n
Jesus entrusted Peter with the mission of caring for His Church but showed that true leadership is servant leadership, grounded in humility and love:<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, \u2018Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?\u2019 Again Jesus said, \u2018Simon son of John, do you love me?\u2019 The third time he said to him, \u2018Simon son of John, do you love me?\u2019 Despite moments of fear and hesitation\u2014like when he tried to walk on water\u2014Peter was taught to place his full trust in Jesus:<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Lord, if it\u2019s you,\u2019 Peter replied, \u2018tell me to come to you on the water.\u2019 After denying Jesus three times, Peter experienced divine forgiveness, learning that God\u2019s love restores and renews even after failure:<\/p>\n \u201cThen seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. \nPeter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, \u2018Do you love me?\u2019 He said, \u2018Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.\u2019
