1. Overview

The Holy Bible Online provides online Bible reading and search tools. This policy explains how information is processed when you use the site, including functional preferences, search logs, analytics and advertising.

2. Information We Process

Our hosting service and the third-party tools described below may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, referring page, pages visited, timestamps, approximate geographic information and site interactions. The information processed depends on the service, your browser settings and available consent choices.

3. Bible Search and Search Logs

Search terms are used to provide results and improve search quality. The application may store your search query, selected Bible translation, result count, a hashed IP address, user agent (browser information) and referring page for operational review and abuse prevention.

The search text itself is stored; hashing an IP address does not make the search query anonymous. Please avoid entering personal or sensitive information in the search box. Logging failures are handled so they do not interrupt reading or search.

Our application does not send the internal search term to Google Analytics as search_term or a custom search parameter. It removes query strings, including q, from the page URLs and referring URLs it sends to GA4. Automatic Site Search measurement is disabled, and GA4's URL data redaction is configured for q. This protection is specific to our GA4 configuration, rather than a promise that other services never process URLs or technical data.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The site uses local storage for functional preferences, such as your light or dark theme. Functional preference storage is separate from third-party advertising and analytics technologies.

Google, Microsoft and other service providers may use cookies, local storage or identifiers for the purposes described below. You can manage stored data through your browser; blocking storage may affect preferences or third-party features.

5. Analytics and Measurement

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand page usage, traffic sources, engagement and device or browser information through aggregate reporting. Google Tag Manager is a tag management system used to load and manage website tags; it is not a separate analytics provider.

Google may process technical data and use cookies or identifiers according to its policies and applicable consent settings. Consent Mode can also send limited measurement and consent signals without cookies when storage consent is denied. The internal search protection described above does not prevent all technical measurement.

6. Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity for session recordings, heatmaps and interaction analytics to understand usability and improve the reading experience. Clarity processes page and interaction information under Microsoft's policies.

Sensitive input content is masked using Clarity's privacy and masking features. This does not mean that all page content, URLs or URL query parameters are automatically masked.

7. Advertising

Google AdSense helps fund the site. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage or identifiers for ad delivery, frequency controls, fraud and abuse prevention, and measurement. Advertising may be personalized where permitted and consented.

Declining consent does not necessarily remove all advertising. Non-personalized or limited ads may still be available, depending on the applicable settings and requirements.

8. Consent and Privacy Choices

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom and Switzerland, the site uses Google's European Regulations consent message, with Consent, Do not consent and Manage options choices. Consent Mode helps Google services adjust their behavior to those choices.

Where required, we ask for consent before certain storage, advertising or analytics purposes are used. You can change consent preferences through the site's consent interface where that interface is available. You can also use privacy controls provided by your browser and the relevant service providers.

9. Third-Party Services

Our hosting service supports delivery of the website. Google and Microsoft process information for the services described above under their own policies. External websites, including linked content, may have different privacy practices. Official information is available here:

Operational and search data is retained only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Third-party providers have their own retention policies and settings.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards to protect the service and restrict access to private configuration. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, applicable law may give you rights concerning personal data, such as access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction or withdrawal of consent. Contact us using the address below to ask about your information or available rights. Consent preferences can also be changed through the site's consent interface where available.

13. Children's Privacy

The site is intended for a general audience and is not designed to knowingly request personal information from children. If you believe personal information was submitted improperly, please contact us.
